As far as sports are concerned, I practice only a few of them : cycling & rollerblading in the summer and snowboarding during the cold times.
I like to be surrounded by non intrusive animals or animals that require constant attention. That's exactly why I have cat and about 40 exotic fishes. These animals can do their business while I do mine and that's exactly the way we like it! I really enjoy working in my fish tank; creating a new landscape with aquatic plants, fine tuning the water condition or adding new friends to this well established community. It's a very quiet and peaceful activity.. And it doesn't have anything to do with computers, so it's real quality time off!
Background in Industrial Design, Commercial Photography and Health Sciences
My true passion is creating. It can be : home renovations, photography, a recipe or computer graphics; it doesn't matter. As long as I can build stuff to reach a personal goal and surpass it, I<m happy about it! As a perfectionist, I like to challenge myself. Easily won battles do not bring that same satisfaction as an achievement that was tough and constantly asking for more.
Ever since I was little, arts have a huge attraction on me. I grew up with computers because my father thought that I would benefit a lot from this relationship with technology. At a younger age than 10 years old, I had a Commodore 64 and received as a gift a cartridge type of software with a drawing software embedded. The greatest was to come; in that bundle, there was a graphic tablet (just like a Wacom) included. How awesome is this for a nine years old kid? Answer : a lot, I would have traded my dog for this, but didn't have to... Awesome!! The possibilities, although limited, back then, seemed infinite for a youngster (keep in mind that this is 1985). I was nine and totally fell in love with graphic design. I knew right away that I wanted to make a living out of this.

A few years and computers passed by and then, I received, as a gift, my very first "real" computer! A 486 50mhz, 4mb of RAM and 512k on the video card. Did I mention it was a "multimedia" computer. You wouldn't believe it back then, but my PC had a CD-ROM reader and speakers attached to it. Along with that PC came the Corel Draw suite. Again, I got charmed instantly! Today, Corel is almost out of the game, but back then, they were rocking and dominating the market. I was totally fascinated by the possibility to draw semi-transparent vector objects. It took Adobe about 5 years to come with the features.
Guess what? A few months later (we<re now in 1994), I decided that I wanted to surf the wave of what they were referring to as "Ze Internet". Surfing was quite a big word... The only site that was online was Yahoo and the only way to get a search that returns results was to search for Yahoo itself! Needless to say, I got voodooed again and became really addicted. I was fascinated by the possibility to create stuff and share it around the globe very easily. In 1996 I subscribed and followed a degree in Industrial Design. Over the 4 years that it took to complete the program, the one thing that caught my attention was the ergonomics of an interface and, as a side dish, the rule of "Form Follows Function".

In 1999 I discovered what is know today as Adobe Flash. It was in it's early days, a bit buggy, but very simple. Guess What? I got addicted again. I fell in love with the possibility to create animations or interactivity with vector objects and very small file size. The only problem was the player. Too few people had the player installed. Because people didn't know about the plugin or didn't know how to install it, you had to duplicate the content and have a static version of every animation or interaction you created. From that point I was making a living out of requests I was receiving to create Flash content. The rest is history and can be seen in my Design Portfolio.
